Young Adult Ministry

“People may judge you to be dreamers, because you believe in a new humanity, one that rejects hatred between peoples, one that refuses to see borders as barriers and can cherish its own traditions without being self-centered or small-minded. Don’t be discouraged: with a smile and open arms, you proclaim hope and you are a blessing for our one human family, which here you represent so beautifully!” – Pope Francis, Homily to young people, World Youth Day 2016 / Krakow, Poland.

The St. Therese Young Adult Ministry (“YAM”) is a group of diverse “recently grown up” adults who believe there is a dynamic opportunity to connect with each other on a spiritual, social, and service-oriented level. We value all young adults and promote their personal wholeness while fostering their gifts and talents. In addition, we are committed to using our gifts for the benefit of all people and the sacred purposes of God in Chinatown and the surrounding neighborhoods.  We also strive to empower our young people, encouraging them to be that blessing, to be the light of Christ for the world.
