Dear friends,
+ St. Jerome Parish celebrates “Velika Gospa”
St. Jerome Croatian Parish invites friends and neighbors to join them for their 102nd annual celebration of the feast of Velika Gospa (Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary) on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the parish grounds on 28th and Princeton.
+ The Assumption of Our Blessed Mother
It is a feast very dear to the Christian Heart. Our Church has a statue of the “Assumption” under St. Anne’s altar. It is a gift of the ancient “Santa Maria Assunta” Sicilian Society once present in our Parish. Please note that it is a day of obligation and that on Aug. 15th there will be a special Mass at 7:00pm
+ St. Rocco’s celebrations:
This year marks the 88th anniversary of the feast in honor of St. Rocco. All are welcome to participate in this spiritual, cultural and traditional celebration of faith and devotion to our Patron.
- Saturday, Aug. 16th: “St. Rocco Novena and Anointing of the Sick” at 7:30pm.
- Sunday, Aug 17th: St.Rocco Celebrations: High Mass at 10:30AM followed by Procession, Benediction. A special gourmet buffet dinner will be served free for all who attend.
+ Parish Assembly
Saturday, Sept. 13th: Parish Assembly at St. Therese of the Child Jesus National Shrine, Darien. From 9:00am prompt to 4:00pm. Lunch will be served. Everyone is invited: it is the “Parish Day” when we will evaluate the past Pastoral Year 2007- 08 and plan the year ahead of us. We have to give the Shrine Director an accurate figure of participants by Sept. 3rd: please, help us save money signing up now. You can enter your name on any of the three boards displayed at the back of the church and in the Basement.
Save the date and join us!
