+ Chinatown Summer Fair:

Today we join the fun of Chinatown Summer Festival. The past weeks have seen many engaged in stringing the meat, marinating pork-ribs, preparing the banner etc. “Thank You!” It is a wonderful occasion for getting together and for making ourselves a bit more visible to our Chinese Community.

+ 23rd World Youth Day (July 15 to July 20) in Sydney, Australia:

 It is coming today to its close. We keep praying for this event and for our youth.

+ Youth:

They are the touch-stone of our faith. It is a very complex and intricate reality. I have prepared something that you can read at your leisure time.

+ “Victory over violence” Youth Forum:

The Chicago Police Departments 021st District presents the “Victory over violence” Youth Forum, Sat. July 26th, 2008 11am-3pm> King Drive, 4445 S. Drexel Ave.

+ Dragon Boat Race for literacy:

It will be held at Ping Tom Park on Sat. July 26th. Opening ceremony at 8:00am and races start at 9:00am. Besides day-long festivities at the Park, it will include acrobatic performances from the Cirque de Shanghai, martial arts demonstrations.

+ Parish Council Meeting:

It will be on Wed. July 23rd at 7:00Pm at the Church Hall. I am in the process of preparing the agenda. I can foresee to major topics for our discussion: 1) the Financial Report for the Fiscal Year 2007-08 and the 2) Youth Group at St. Therese. Please, don’t hesitate to suggest topics you believe relevant for the life of our Church.
