The Pastor's Desk

MARCH 29, 2009

Dear friends:

+ In memory of Rita Lee:

Her funeral took place last Tue. March 24th. I was honored to offer prayer for her and all her family.

I was called at her death bed for the sacraments. When her son whispered in her ear: “Sanfu Michael is here”, we heard a noise from the monitor: she seemed to have recognized the arrival of her Pastor”. We were able to celebrate the all the Sacred Rites   and she passed away, peacefully, few minutes after.

Sadness for her departure, faith that she is now with God and hope that she will pray for us, mingled together during the very dignified Burial Mass.

The many Mass-cards she received show how much loved she was by everyone. I wish to extend, on behalf of all the parish, the Xaverian Fathers, and myself my sincerest condolences to the Lee Family.

+ From the Lee Family

On behalf of the family of the late Rita Tew Moy Lee, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the congregation of St. Therese Church for your prayers and generous contributions for our beloved mother and grandmother.  The love, support and community you have shared with Rita and her family over the years will continue to live on in our hearts and her spirit, never to be forgotten.

+ First Reconciliation:

Congratulations and God bless the children who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time.  Please keep them in your prayers as they faithfully continue their journey following in the footsteps of Jesus.
Sophia Ng, Ignatius Mullin, Lyra Baluyut, and Dominique Feng
A big “Thank You” also to Darlene E. Chan, the catechist who prepared them for this important Sacrament.

+ Protecting God’s Children:

Today Christine Delfin  will lead a session for “Protecting God’s children” at St. Therese School from 11:00 am till 12:00Noon.
Both, the Archdiocese of Chicago and St. Therese Chinese Catholic Church, require mandatory training programs and forms for ALL employees, clergy and volunteers who work with children.
Wee are asking everyone who is active in the Parish, to comply. This will allow us to include our youth in more of our future events, such as the Summer Fair.

We will gather at the back of the church after today 9:30am Mass and walk together over to the school computer-lab.
