Dear friends,
+ We pray for the Pope
We continue to remember the Holy Father in our prayers. I don’t know if you followed his foot steps in the Holy Land last Week.
On May 11th when he visited Jerusalem's Yad Vashem (Holocaust Memorial), sending a strong message for the entire Church. The Pope is German, the nation to which belonged the Nazis who organized the Holocaust, and his national origin gives even greater weight to his message and his pilgrimage to the holy places.
+ Weekly Guitar Class to begin on Sunday, June 7, 2009
Good News! To build up our own guitar band at St. Therese, we are offering a weekly guitar class starting on Sunday, June 7, 2009 (11AM to noon). This weekly one-hour class will be taught by Steve Marion, a well known south side liturgical guitar player. To ensure effective learning, we limit the class size to 10 students.
The guitar band is part of the contemporary ensemble that we want to establish at St. Therese. We want to recruit youth and young adults who not only are interested in learning guitar, but want to serve in the liturgy with his/her musical talent/skills. Our goal is to build a very active contemporary ensemble in our music ministry, with a band (with guitar, drums & other instruments) and a choir offering contemporary music at our worship.
We still have 5 slots open in this guitar class. So, if you want to be part of this contemporary ensemble, please contact Joe Delfin or Lily May as soon as possible. Let's make it a FUN summer ahead!!
