Dear friends,

+ Celebrating St. Therese:

Today we celebrate the Feast of “St. Therese of the Child Jesus”, also known as "St. Therese of Lisieux" because of the city she was born.

She is to us a bright example of how to become a saint. To be a saint is the reason why we are in this world. Not to become one, means to have failed the very reason why we were created.

In the effort become holy as God wants us, we try to imitate St. Therese, following her “Little Way” to holiness. It consists in doing the ordinary things of our daily leaving, in a very extraordinary way: i.e. with love!

St. Therese believed that her true work would begin after her death and that, "after my death will let fall from heaven a shower of roses.

+ Mission Month of October:

During the “Mission Month” of October we intend to reach out, with our prayers, ,to the whole world.

Last week we prayed in a special way for the African Continent; this week we'd like to commend to the Lord the vast continent of Asia and, in a very special way, for China.

To be missionary has never been easy, especially now in a world tom by so many wars and conflicts.

+ St. Therese Bazaar and BBQ

This year's BBQ & Bazaar was awesome! Everyone had fun, especially the little kids: it was such a delight watching them running around!

I believe that, alongside being a fundraiser, the Bazaar& BBQ is a golden opportunity to showcase the spirit of the St. Therese community. We are opening ourselves to Chinatown and the surrounding communities. We become more visible!

Our students did a very good job. More often than not, they worked at their stations like mature adults.

I wish to express my gratitude to the Principal, Ms. Cavallone, the very active and energetic School Boards, voluntaries, generous donors donor, the BBQ Team and our school children. WELL DONE and CONGRATS!

The final tally isn't in yet, but suffice it to say that the bazaar was a resounding success thanks to everyone's enthusiasm, dedication and efforts

+ How to help the school:

You can help our school by dropping your "Richwell Supermarket" receipts into the basket in the Church basement. St. Therese School will be credited a percentage of them.
